Studying vs. Sleep the age old question.

I am really really tired. All I want to do is lay down and nap, but its nine o'clock at night so I really would be going to sleep for the night, and I really have to get studying. I have like I think I have stated before 2 exams on Friday and Saturday, my Calc III, accounting followed by Stats I and Marketing. I need to study, but I think I am going to sleep instead.

Nine days and not a minute sooner...

Well, I am trying to get myself in the habit of writing everyday, so I don't forget too much on the Trip.

I am quite happy to say this trip is coming at a great time, as my summer wandering need is beginning to kick in. I haven't been able to stay in one place without walking every hour or so, for half a mile plus, today without having to stay in place (class/work) . At the beginning of the summer/late spring I get this month of metaphorical itchy feet, and all I want to do is going exploring, I have no interesting in being held down to my responsibilities. I want to go exploring, I want to get in my car and drive and forget everyone and everything. I want to head away and never come back.

This trip if I can survive the next nine days should fix the itch.

I AM SO EXCITED.

<.< *bounce* >.>

I am seriously worried about this clothes issue. I am very prepared the business end of the trip. Business/ business casual I can do. I am quite good at it, I live in it. Casual traveler, not being a embarrassment to my fellow trip members with my general lack of any fashion/ trendy dressing style, worries me.

I have two modes of dress, business/business casual (slacks/ skirt, and blouse/button up shirt), and jeans/one colored tee-shirts and/or a button up shirt.
Silly I know, but it likes to worry me.

and I need a bathing suit. >.< I don't like this particular article of clothing, and I don't have the figure to be in one either. Plus, I have serious personal skin issues, I don't like to show off my skin especially my stomach and I burn really really really easy.
YAY FOR BEING IRISH!
Did you know that after you out grow the Girl's sizes you can't get one pieces? O.o Though I have found a two piece brown suit that covers most of my skin, and as I haven't found a one piece that does not blind you if you look in its direction, I believe I will go back and buy it.

On other notes my finals begin on Friday, and run until next Wednesday, a mere twelve hours before I have to get on the plane. I have two on Friday, two on Saturday and my final exam on Wednesday afternoon.

10 days until I am flying away from this place.

Well, there is a mere ten days before I head to Taiwan to begin the trip. I am so nervous, I only know one person on the trip, and I know him only a little from the Japanese Culture club.

"Certainly, travel is more than the seeing of sights; it is a change that goes on, deep and permanent, in the ideas of living.
Miriam Beard"
I am interested in figuring out, at the moment, what Changes I want this trip to give me about living. I am also trying to decide what I want to see in Japan and Taiwan. I don't really have a big habit of having personal priorities, if they are necessary for getting things done in work or school I might be a bit overzealous but on a personal non-work related level I lack, so I don't know what I want to see. When I say/write these things, I realize why most of my friends call me a workaholic. I must ponder more on this.

~distracted~

Which I am really excited about. One of the trip members (Charles, mentioned above) will be one of the co-presidents next year. I was just taken out of office as well as all the other current officers, and we placed in all new officers, all of whom I have the utmost confidences will make the club great. Which reminds me I should try and grab coffee with the other Co-president...

~back on task~

Anyways, the big trip related events of the last week or so, have been clothes buying. I am the type of person who does not buy new clothes until I realize I have holes in the patches of the holes in my clothes. Seriously, my friends decided to have a intervention on me about my clothes and said 'this, this, and this have to go, LiLi throw them way now!'

So I went out and bought some new clothes; I now own three dress slacks, two pairs of jeans, three skirts, one dress, five button down shirts, one blouse thing, and a few t-shirts. I swear this in the most clothes that I can actually wear at one time. Can you tell I am the child of a large lower class blue collar family. College has been one big eye opening experience for me.

Currently I am listening to my music and trying to decide what I need to do for my classes this up coming week. I feel very confused as I have no assignments due next week because all my classes are winding down or having presentations of which I did presenting for last week. Oh, and trying to get over my philosophy hangover, my friends and I got into a discussion about what existence is and the define of Knowledge, wisdom, and our own separation from all other things. Basically defined self and reality until 4 am. It messed up my sleep and thoughts for the weekend.

I am so excited. and I need food, its seven and normally speaking I eat about 5;30 so I need to go.

I waited my whole damn life to take this Flight.

I seriously need to post in here.

I am so terrible terrible terrible lazy. Its a mere 22 days until I catch my flight to Tawian. Hopeful I won't end up like that guy in that song "Ironic" by alanis morissette:

He waited his whole damn life to take that flight
And as the plane crashed down he thought
"Well isn't this nice..."

my own personal nightmare-ish event. Actually I have about a million of them in my head, but that one is the most prominent one, at least at the moment. I have only flown twice in my memory, two years ago to Arizona to look at Arizona State U. where I was accepted but later decided I couldn't afford, and would come back and get my MB in geolog later.... Yeah thats never happening now.

What else? Oh lots of drama. Quit talking to my best friend at college for a long bit, we just argued all the time, and now we play pretend like we talk.. Seriously its like listening to diplomates turning phrases. Its awful, very polite (at least for us) and half insulting.
what else.... The guy I liked started dating one of my other friends, and if I get accused of being jealous one more time I think I will just go off the wall. I really don't feel jealous, I feel actually very happy for them, they both are pretty umm, miserable with their lives alot and are general anti-social shy but once engaged very outgoing... Yes I think that is ironic and very much an oxymoron, but its the truth. Simple stated they are really good for each other and they make each other happy.

<.< >.> And honestly I think thats what I wanted anyways, and I mistook for liking the guy. He is great when he is happy, and his smile warms the room, but most of the time he looks sad and dejected in the corner; and I wanted to see him smile more.

I am a silly Emi. ;)

My room at school is nearl empty as I took most of my stuff home last weekend. All I have is the essentials and my clothes. ... oh and my Easter candy. that is not necessary in a morally right way, but in my head-> yes it is.

Well thats all I have to say, and two I have my first class of the day in about twenty minutes so I need to get off, and I now want to listen to Ironic before I go.

The First Post: Why a I doing this.

There are certain things one holds dear. Memories are one of them, though the memory of what you feel exactly at the moment that the events occur are the most influential and the most fleeting.Composing your words into visual media such as words is essential to the keeping of these fleeting things, whether it is with the curving lines of pen on paper or the quite taps of fingers flying across a keyboard.

Okay enough with my random prosing. I like to prose so you may have to fight with my sentences a bit to get to the basic information I am conveying. I apologise here and now.

This blog is for the purpose of recording my progress and Adventures as I go on my first study abroad trip. I will be spending approximately 3 weeks in Japan and Taiwan this summer, studying a bit of culture and a lot of business. Which is great as while I was a geology student I am changing my major to international business.

Its all Quite Nerve Wrecking.

We are required to keep a blog on the trip anyways, but I figured I might as well start now, and record the nervous and exciting months before the trip with this, and as I will more like be spending a semester abroad the Fall of 2010, I figured I might as well set this up, to also record that adventure, and maybe even my adventures international after I graduate. Who know?~

Anyway welcome to the Blog, and please feel free to contact me if you have question or comments.
