And now for something COMPLETELY different...

"Everyone uses each other. Its human nature. Friendship is when on most days you BOTH think you are getting the better deal, and feel like your cheating the other. On bad days you thinks its just fair, or just a little sided against you. And the bad days are few and far between"

Yeah I just quoted myself. Have issues with it? :P

I love my best friends they make everything better, even if they live on the other end of a Continent! ^W^

Mainly by making you give them advice that you need yourself through their problems reminding you who you are, and helping you bounce back.

Understanding is a noun.

Which is the New knowledge of the day # 58.

God today has been a long, productive in that way that I have nothing to show for it but maybe some new neuron connections in my brain, that I am not going to show you because showing you would kill me.

I have exactly a week until my ISEP application is due. I am pretty much at my wit ends about the schools application stuff because everyone is playing footsie about where my courses go and if they are okay with my schedule. DAMN EVIL ADMINISTRATION AND CHAIR PEOPLE. You can't just go, well this is what you need. Nope you have to sit around and degrade my attempts at doing what you are unwilling to give me help with this paper work, and point out things I missed I DIDN'T KNOW existed until then. Though I don't dislike it, it definitely is worth the effort to fix what they said needed to be fixed and definitely academically better for me to do this, but do they have to use that 'you are so stupid' tone ?

Despite how whiny that paragraph sounds, my busy running getting stuff done day actually made me very happy. I like my room mate though I think we might annoy each other because we are both a lot alike, other than our prefer room temperature (she likes it hot I like it cold, and I feel like this is a bad love R&B song. *music notes float by*)

Classes start Monday Afternoon for me. Yes I said Afternoon, on Monday, Wednesday, Friday my academic day does not start until noon, with my Japanese class. Which I am not sure is good bad or what. Japanese is definitely for me one of those classes I need to warm my brain up a bit before hand. Which on the side, is why I have tripled the amount of Translation work on my 'Why I am studying abroad' essay in the last three hours. Yes I am spending hours translating stuff. Its freaking hard. Lots of work but its kind of fun too.

Thats really all I have to say. I feel bad, I didn't talk to Ash today. Bet he isn't very happy with me at all.Bye.

My Life = Complicated.

Well, winter break is in full swing and My life decided it meant time to be complicated.

I don't even know where to begin on the complicated. I am kind of dating a guy, I kind of like, who lives far way. Not sure if I like the whole long distance thing. Not sure if I like the way our relationship is going. And not sure about if I like cost of this. Its complicated from beginning to end. How it started is interesting, and were it has gone is even more so. He is a bit clingy which I can't decide is good, bad or just a bit annoying.

I may or may not be moving towards a better relationship with lost Knight. Things get better and things get worse, and I think we are ultimately we are merely waltzing in place. Don't ask why I had to make that random reference I just did. . .

Things appear to be clearing up with the flaming leave, we can talk decently well. I think? everything seems well at least, but so did the western front to Remarque's communication Sargent the day Paul dies. . .

The home front is doing well, beyond laughing jokes and berating about my 'boyfriend' by my family every time my cell phone makes a noise all is well. I make Onokonmiyaki today, it was quite pretty too. Normally they look quite pathetic as I can never get them out of the pan correctly today I DID!!!! I even took pictures but I don't have them on the computer yet.

Cleaning a closet and Filling a grave.

Today was a day I cleaned out the closet, at least metaphorically. I actually cleaned out a desk. Its strange the things one holds on to, and maybe they tell a lot about the person, and even more when they finally get rid of them.

The thing anyone who has never been in my room needs to know, is I live in a boring kind of guest room un-lived-in feeling room. Its cheery and warm with warm greens and yellows, but it seems kind of empty. I never noticed it, truly seriously noticed it, until now. My walls have nothing on them, only the door exiting my room (I have four) into the hall has a calendar on the wrong month if not the wrong year hanging on a nail. My closet is organized and neat, like it always practically is; My books all in a rows on my shelfs, shoes neatly in a row with the first inch of the toe under my hope chest, and my desk and dressers are bare on top, nothing hanging out of them. In all honestly minus my unfolded clothes sitting on my hope chest just out of the drier, and unmade bed that I am comfortable sitting with my feet under the covers you could have thought that this room was unused, even with me here.

The signs of me, the me you all seem or at least appear to know enough to be able to read this, lies secretly in the drawers of my desk. And tonight I cleaned out that desk. The desk that represents me, neat organized a little old fashioned, hiding a quirky set of ideas and random things you would be surprised to find with each other. That has been what has consumed my thoughts this late night, as I cleaned the desk. And now I have a bag of failures sitting next to my desk waiting to be taken out to the bin in the morning.

Its these things thrown away that seems to say the most. Most of them failures, the ones I held on to so closely for years, that don't seem to matter so much. A picture of the chosen student of my school to go on the school's exchange program the year I applied, was one of the first found and thrown out. My jealous and failure to meet the 'normal' requirements to be one of those chosen few has long past, my puppy dog love for one of them has long past, and my worry about how the horrible way he was 'used' to met the reasonable except able deviation from the normal one he could not help as he was born that way, and how knowing that messed with his mind has also gone on its way.The pile of senior voting stuff that the school did not allow me to submit.

I threw out pictures of me in the newspaper where I had won first prize at something but still stood with jealous and anger at the world, even though I smiled a bright smile, even through the picture you could feel the contempt for the world rolling off of me. Had I really been that angry person I saw staring back at me? My mirror seems to confirm that if she doesn't exist now, I have smile lines beginning to etch their way into my face, where once I use to complain that smile for more than a few second hurt my face. I now, I am finding I rarely am not smiling at least at the corners of my mouth.

I threw out all my religious papers, yes those whom read this and knew me in middle school or before; I had tons of papers sitting in my desk. My bible-bowl study guides that I had, Kit's and Pete's lecture tri-folds that we got every week, a few dozen tri-folds from the churches in which I tried to reconnect with my lost religion when I moved here. I got rid of them all. Because I realized I had moved on. I no longer question my decision, to walk this path to find my own enlightenment about what god is and what I need to do. I trust myself and I trust my god enough now. When life is tough I have faith, faith in myself, and faith in my god, what ever it is, that I don't run and hide behind what I know isn't my truth. I stand up to the storm and I laugh and keep going, or search for shelter without straying from the path I have found. I feel that this is a bad explanation of what I feel but it is the best I can give you at the moment.

And more failures of myself and other that I kept, I threw them out. What is left is just good stuff, happy memories or the horrible ones that created beautiful things, with a few exceptions.

My drawers are cleaner though I doubt the spattering of poetry and writings, scribbled notes on the colors of the world, letters from friends and family, black and white photos of classmates and friends taken, or every birthday card I have ever got will stay in place. They brought back memories, letters from many of my friends from Kernersville from when I first moved, "notebook' friendship notes for my notebook from High school, and so many small happy memories I can't seem to remember them all this second.

A few exceptions though still remain. Tiffany's memorial service stuff still sits in their little box in the back of one draw, and the bottom draw is still filled with a perfume gift box, a geology textbook and boxes and boxes of rocks. I just can't seem to get rid of these things, I think for two different reasons, 1) that they still hold a lot of things for me, 2) I haven't quite being the person whom those items held great great importances for, and 3) getting rid of them requires not the throwing out with the rubbish but a ceremony like a funeral. A funeral for the dead, the me that is no more. I have found I am burying the old me a lot lately. I feel kind of old at the moment.

I survived the first round of bullets. . . I mean Exams.

Well, I survived the first round of exams. I have a B in Economics for sure, and the jury is still out on the other three, whose exam I have taken.

I have only my Japanese exam left to go. *hides from exam*

This weekend, was supposed to be the time my room mate moved, 90% of her stuff out of our room, into her new room on her future room mates half of the room, and some of it into her boyfriends room, instead of taking it all back with her when she leaves on Monday afternoon. SO far all that has happened is that she has made her half of the room messier, and has begun to think about it. (her words not mine). I am worried.

I am leaving Wednesday afternoon-ish for home. I handed out my christmas gifts that I have ready/ made this year for the x-gang.  Only two failures for this, and mainly I just could not do so, as I didn't see them much this semester, so the main gift was impossible to create. One of whom I don't think would find value in my gift as she is much better at it than I am.  The other is one of those annoying people who refuses to have pictures taken, so getting even a representational photo to start off was impossible. *is irked* One of those whom I did give the gift to had already left for home, so I just left it on her desk. *smiles* Which was nice as I avoid a very awkward conversation.

Figured that with the rest of the school folks will just have to wait until school starts up next semester for gifts, because I am as close to broke as I ever like to get. With only a mere 84 dollars coming my way next week for a paycheck. I am barely scraping by at the moment. Which sucks big time. Especially as I need to purchase some more clothes as a number of mine are once again hitting thread bare. DAMNMIT.

I should be studying today, but instead I opted for sleep, cleaning, cooking food, and once I finished this, reading some nice fiction books for a few hours. I need a mental break before I start studying for Japanese or it will just hit me like a fifty foot wave, and drown me. I need to be semi calm to study for Japanese, and I think a lazy day after two weeks of not having them. I deserve just one off day.

Finals, talking and evil friends. . . Can this be more anymore fun?

So, FINALS. THEY ARE COMING TO GET ME. *hides behind the tallest follower*

I have one tomorrow, three on Friday, and one terrifying Japanese final on Tuesday, then I have to get out of town early on Wednesday heading homeward.

IN VERY LOCAL NEWS: I have finally broken out of my shell/shelf as the scary upperclassman on my hall. Now they all think I am just a shy, kind of nutty upperclassman, though interesting. Its amazing what Bacon, cookie decorating, and discussion what is the best length for chopsticks can do for your social status. O.o Oh and my room mate is moving out at the end of the semester, down the hall to live with her new best friend. SO I will have a new random stranger to live with next semester. Honestly I am beginning to be okay with that, because she has become very nasty with me of late. Maybe making her leaving easier for her,  I think.

On Far reaching State News: My sister just had all of her friends bail on her birthday party on Saturday. Which happens often enough, they just don't go, 'Yes I will be there' and three days later they all go, "Actually, No. {insert obvious lie of excuse here]". I am personally hoping I get a call on Saturday saying they secretly are planning a surprise for her. Let us see how that goes.

That is about it. The semester is almost over.

Ramen and Ignorance.

This is one of those side, what in the world is she thinking posts, that I felt like posting, so yeah ignore if you are not interested in my awesome psycho thought process.

Today, was a nice day. I got my snow sundae yesterday, along with some Chicken nuggets from McD's. I know horrible for me. Its going to  kill me so much faster than I am already dying. For dinner last night, I had yogurt, carrots, olives,  mozzarella and a baguette. It made me so happy. Its was so good. Because of my wonderful light Mediterranean dinner last night, I woke up in a really foodie mood. Spent way to much of today, looking over food blogs and recipes for my own good. Especially since I should have been studying for my exam later this week. For those who might want to yell at me I did do some studying, and I did my Economics extra credit assignment.

SO when it was time for dinner planning today, I wanted some real cooked food. the healthy good stuff I cooked myself and was warm. I had some already defrosting ginger garlic steak in my fridge, so I decide making Ramen was a good idea. So I ran over to the cafetera picked up some fresh-ish mushrooms, carrots and red onion to go in it. I had really wanted to put spinach in it as, I have heard raving reviews of it from some of my favorite bloggers with the same food tastes as me. But hey we can't get everything we want in life, now can we?

So I was down in the Kitchen of East cooking. I had two stove tops, one for grilling the meat in my pan with, then making 'beef broth' from the residue in the pan, to steam the vegetables in/ serve the ramen in and the pot I was cooking the ramen in. Once the ramen was cooked, I then dumped out most of the water, threw in the beef broth, along with some soy sauce, chili powder and a dash of curry powder. Brought it to a boil, then flash cooked the vegetables in the boiling water. I then arranged the ramen, beef, and vegetables in the bowl before putting it in the broth in. It was so pretty. Though I felt the broth was a bit too much, as it completely covered the ramen.

HERE is where I get all annoyed.  I decide to sit down in the dinning room. One of the kids who had been getting a drink when I was in the kitchen cooking comes up to me. Asking the question everyone seems to ask me when ever I cook. So what did you cook. With that weird, questioning, curiosity look, of some half afraid to find out what it is. {which by the way I notice that doesn't seem to happen to lots of other people, so why do I always get the strange looks, huh?}

I say "Beef ramen." He then proceeds to blast me for trying to say what I was eating ramen. Ramen could not possible have vegetables and meat in it. OH DARE I called what I was eating Ramen. I should not bastardize the American college food with such things. I was stupid. He said this in a calm, you are so silly, and ignorant way.

I processed to inform him about the history of Ramen, and that he was in fact the ignorant one, and technically the way I was having my ramen was more correct than his instant college food way of eating ramen was. He left, in that I am over my head RETREAT! RETREAT! kind of way. It was quite cute.  ^W^ I swear I am not evil.

It was quite funny, and I wanted to share the humor of it, along with having some where I will randomly see it and go Haha! I remember that day!

Hope everyone has a great day.

LiLi

P.S. How weird is it that my favorite yogurt toppings is a chili powder garlic mix? I was in one of my foodie forums, and mentioned it, and the forum came alive with conversation. Seems this is really odd, well for an American/Western Society person to say so. I few of the Mideastern members of the forum said it was common (maybe not a favorite) in their areas. SO I was wondering what my friend think of this. What is your favorite topping for yogurt?
